Financial Services

The WFN Financial Services Department provides a wide range of accounting, reporting and planning functions that:

Support WFN Council and Management with information for planning and control;
Ensure transparency by providing accurate and timely reporting to all stakeholders such as taxpayers and community members;
Make recommendations that promote positive financial outcomes and maintain WFN’s strong financial position;
Enforce accountability through strong internal controls and adherence to all laws, standards and policy.

While controls and standards are the mainstay of accounting, the Department works to be flexible, open to change and continually improve processes and efficiency. Team members work to reflect our agreed upon values:

Teamwork and empowerment;
Continuous improvement.

Comprised of 17 staff members, Financial Services cover all the financial and accounting functions. This ranges from Accounts payable, Accounts Receivable, Budgeting, Cashier, Financial Analysis, Financial Reporting, and Information Technology, to Payroll, Property Taxation and Utilities.

The Local Government budget will be posted to this site soon after its final approval on June 30th. Financial results for the year ended March 31 will be posted no later than September each year.
