Westbank First Nation Government Strategic Plan for Government Operations 2008-2013, revised December 2010.
In 2005, WFN embarked upon the implementation of the most comprehensive First Nation self-government agreement in Canada. This brings with it a huge range of planning challenges, along with the opportunity for WFN to demonstrate incredible innovation and creativity.
In addition to the challenges associated with self-government implementation, WFN is a community experiencing explosive growth. Like any other rapid-growing community, WFN is facing demands on infrastructure and services and recognizes the importance of establishing a thorough legislative and regulatory framework.
The Strategic Plan is intended to guide the development of the five-year financial plan, detailed departmental work plan and ultimately an annual budget. It will be regularly reviewed to ensure that it reflects the evolving vision of the community and the organization.
