WFN IR#9 Water Quality Advisory currently in effect

Update July 24, 2017: the Water Quality Advisory remains in effect

Residents and businesses of Westbank First Nation IR #9 are advised that a Water Quality Advisory remains in effect until further notice. The Water Quality Advisory was instated June 2, as a downgrade from the previous Boil Water Notice instated May 5.

Recent turbidity readings for WFN’s IR #9 water system are reading 2.9 CFU per 100 ml, and must be under 1.0 for 48 consecutive hours before the advisory can be lifted. This advisory will remain in place until further notice and does not impact WFN’s IR #10.

To stay up to date, please regularly check our website and follow @westbankfn on Facebook or Twitter. The boundaries of IR#9 can be found by visiting wfn.ca/landownershiproadsmap.htm.

It is recommended that certain individuals living or operating on WFN’s IR #9 take precaution during a Water Quality Advisory, including people with weakened immune systems or chronic illnesses; people under 12 and over 65 years of age; and people wishing to take additional precautions, including boiling water for one minute, using filtered or distilled water, or using an alternative water source such as bottled water.
