Communicable Disease Control
Any person with a communicable disease should make this known to the Community Health Nurse at 250 768 0227. Tuberculosis (TB) Program TB testing is provided for all community members and those needing to be tested for treatment or employment. Community TB Screening: because the community has had an active case of TB within the last five years, everyone living or working on reserve requires a skin test annually.
Well Baby Clinics and Childhood & Adult Immunizations
Regular childhood immunizations are provided according to the BC Provincial schedule. Feel free to call the Community Health Nurse or visit www.immunizebc.ca for info or scheduling.
It's not just for kids! Adult immunizations are also provided. Call the Community Health Nurse if you need vaccination for employment or if you have certain medical conditions. We provide yearly flu clinics to help protect against influenza. A tetanus booster is recommended every 10 years, and if you are 65 YOA or better, or have certain medical conditions, you should get a pneumococcal vaccine.
