Employees at WFN have access to a wealth of training and development resources. Through personal development plans and global training initiatives, employees gain valuable knowledge and support in advancing their education and careers.
Following a successful application progress (congrats!), employees will undertake a comprehensive orientation process soon after their first day on the job. Supervisors ensure that new employees within their department learn all there is to know about their new role, co-workers, and working at WFN. You will go on a tour of WFN's offices, lands, and community. The Human Resources Supervisor will meet with you to review your job description, salary, compensation and benefits, the Personnel Policy, and other important documents. You will also meet with the Payroll Supervisor to ensure all of your paperwork is filled out correctly. WFN attempts to help new employees adjust and learn as quickly as possible. Learn more >
Don't worry, performance reviews are a positive way for employees to re-connect with their supervisor, ensure they are on the right track, re-assess their job description (and salary), and evaluate all the wonderful projects and tasks they have completed. By keeping track of performance, employees are then capable of advancing within the government and taking on new and exciting challenges. Both the employee and supervisor are encouraged to each fill out the performance review form, then meet for coffee to compare notes. Self-evaluation is an excellent opportunity for employees to re-evaluate their goals and priorities before moving on to their next successful year of employment.
Employees at WFN are encouraged to take advantage of their department's education budget. If an employee learns of a course that will help boost job performance, then they are welcome to sit down with their supervisor and discuss the logistics (when, where, cost, etc.). Training and development is not only encouraged, but required. Succession panning and career pathing is something WFN will focus on more and more moving forward.
Departments are encouraged to engage in regular team building exercises to get to know each other better and help develop the overall effectiveness of professional collaboration.
