The sənsísyustən House of Learning is designed after a traditional native pit-house that lends itself to interactive learning in a warm and nurturing environment. The Okanagan translation of sənsísyustən is "the place where you become anything you choose to be". It is a place which edifies the 7 teachings (humility, honesty, bravery, respect, love, truth, wisdom). Teachers, staff, Elders, school board members and the Parent Advisory Committee strive to make that a reality for students. Class sizes are small, busing is provided, as is a hot lunch program. We currently offer a junior kindergarten through grade six program.
sənsísyustən is a Group 1 Independent School with the B.C. Ministry of Education and is staffed by certified teachers. The regular provincial curriculum is enhanced with a cultural inclusion component which offers instruction in Okanagan language and culture.
