Drop-in youth center Monday-Friday, 4-8 p.m. Saturdays from 10am-2pm Youth ages 12+ have access to computers, games, a pool table, the sensisyusten gymnasium, and various other activities and events. Gym time starts at 4:30 Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri where youth have access to activities such as floor hockey, basketball, rock climbing, dodge ball etc. Pizza is served on Fridays. Various programs are run out of the Youth Center throughout the year as well as a number of out-trips and special events such as swimming at H2O, Movie nights, bowling, paintball, ice skating and more! The Youth Leadership program is run throughout the school year for youth ages 13-19. Participants meet every other Monday to discuss community issues, take part in leadership and team building activities and plan community events. The WFN Youth Leadership group plays a key role in many special projects throughout the year including, the annual WFN Halloween Haunted House, the Community Christmas party, PAC Family Night and various events and activities in the WFN Youth Center. This program runs from September-June and requires regular attendance. Youth Leadership also offers a summer program in which the youth act as junior leaders in the WFN Summer Outdoor Adventures Camp. This program offers Youth the opportunity to act as leaders, gain valuable experience, gets them involved in their community, and allows them to take part in cultural activities. This program runs from July 4th-August 31st and requires regular attendance of 2-3 days per week.

Girl Power
Girl Power is a program offered to girls 9-12 years old, every Monday from 3-5 pm. The purpose of Girl Power is to encourage the development of strength, courage, confidence, honesty, and communication skills for girls. The goal of Girl Power is to enhance Girls’ abilities so they are able to take full advantage of their talents, academic interests, career pursuits, and potential for healthy relationships. Topics include self-esteem, body image, practical skills, boundaries, friendship and anger. There is a physical component included to introduce girls to different activities and potential hobbies. There is no cost to the program but space is limited.
sensisyusten After School Care is a fully licensed child care program that runs from Monday-Friday, 2:30 to 5:30 in the Multi-Purpose room. Participants range from 5-12 years old and attended either Sensisyusten House of Learning or Chief Tomat Elementary School. Pick-up from Chief Tomat Elementary is provided. The after school program focus is to support the emotional, intellectual, and physical growth of each child. Our objectives are to provide an environment where children are encouraged to explore, make choices and develop a positive sense of self and uniqueness. Activities in the program include arts and crafts, sports, drama games, movie days, and out-trips as well as free-play. The cost for the program is $10.50 a day for part-time enrolment or $207.50 a month for full-time enrolment. Space is limited. Registration process includes filling out registration forms, submitting completed immunization records, and providing an up-to-date photo.
Outdoor Adventures Summer Program
The Outdoor Adventures Summer Program runs July 4th through August 26th, Monday to Friday from 10:00am to 4:30 pm. This program is for youth ages 12-15 with a maximum of 15 participants. This program gives youth the opportunity to take part in cultural activities, recreational opportunities, community service projects, fundraising and outdoor games. Each day the youth will take part in physical activity and an afternoon excursion to a beach/park or other activity. Out-trips include go-karts, swimming, rock-climbing, hiking etc. This program is empowering for the youth by raising their self-confidence, while building leadership and social skills. R’Native Voice is a weekly program that aims at teaching youth about their culture and history. It runs every Wednesday from 4:30-7:30, November to February in the youth center and is open to youth ages 12-16. The Program focuses on developing self- empowerment as well as teaching the youth to make choices that will support them in making decisions that will lead to a more sustainable future. Activities include cultural activities, self esteem, body image, Okanagan history, traditional teachings, and physical activity. 10-15 participants per week – WFN and aboriginal on/off reserve Please contact Justin Lott
