Outdoor Recreation Site Development Update
In 2017, the Outdoor Recreation Site next to the new Youth Centre will be designed based on community feedback. In September, we asked the community, "What type of outdoor recreation opportunities would you like to see developed in the WFN Community Core?" We received a tremendous amount of feedback throughout October via display boards at the Community Services, Lindley, and Russel buildings;, the AGM; the October 3rd Membership Meeting;, as well as on social media, where many Members contributed their creative ideas.
In total, we received 145 responses. The most popular ideas included:
- Skate park
- Swimming pool / water park
- Basketball court
- Ice rink / hockey
- Lacrosse
- Tennis court
WFN Development Services is committed to investigating the feasibility of these options, considering the budget and spatial requirements of each. Please look for updates on the progress of this project on social media, the newsletter, and the WFN website.
