Caretaker opportunity at Fauquier Property Campground
Westbank First Nation (“WFN”) seeks a full-time, hands-on, live-in caretaker to maintain the home and campsites at WFN’s Fauquier Property, located in the lower Arrow Lake area, approximately a 2.5 hour drive from Westbank.
The Caretaker's home has two bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and is wheelchair accessible. There is a large workshop, carport, vegetable gardens, green house, and mature fruit and nut trees.
The community of Fauquier hosts a gas station, convenience store, postal outlet, coffee shop, restaurant, and golf course, and is within 5 minutes from the Needles ferry crossing. Fauquier is a 2.5 hour drive from Westbank. The nearest towns are Nakusp, approximately 40 minutes away, and Vernon, 1.5 hours away.
WFN acquired the Fauquier Property through the Westside Road Interchange Land Exchange Project and has developed the 5-acre parcel into a campsite hosting nine R.V. sites and two tent sites.
Rent at the property is significantly reduced in exchange for the Caretaker providing the following services:
- Regular lawn and yard maintenance;
- Upkeep to the home and buildings; and
- Welcoming guests and supervising the campsites in cooperation with WFN.
