Public Arts Committeerequest for letters of interest
Deadline: September 1, 2017
Westbank First Nation Council is requesting letters of interest for the WFN Public Arts Committee in order to fillthe following seats:
- One WFN Elder;
- Two WFN Member at large; and
- One WFN youth member of the majority age
Applicants must possess good character, credibility and reputation and have a vested interest in Public Art as wellas syilx / Okanagan culture. The term of each seat is 3 years commencing September, 2017 and in accordancewith the Public Arts Committee Terms of Reference.
The Purpose of the PAC is to promote WFN culture through the encouragement of artists and the display of artthroughout the community.
- Promote WFN culture through the arts;
- Provide advice and act as a resource to Council and staff through the WFN Public Art Program;
- Propose and support activities that benefit and advance public art on and off WFN lands; and
- Create and administer a public art selection process for the commissioning and / or purchase of art for public purposes.
PAC members who are not attending as WFN staff employees are provided an honorarium for meetings attended,which we are mandated to host 4 times per year. PAC Members are also encouraged to attend events, workshopsand engagement sessions that benefi t their knowledge base in regards to public art activities taking place.
