Opportunity for WFN Youth to attend Gathering Our Voices Aboriginal Youth Conference

The WFN youth and recreation department has 12 spots available to take Westbank First Nation Youth (ages 14-18) to the 2018 Gathering Our Voices Aboriginal Youth Leadership Conference, March 20-23, 2018 in Musquem Traditional Territory (Richmond, BC). All WFN Youth ages 14 to 18 are invited to submit an application/registration form .

The conference will bring together more than 1,000 Indigenous youth delegates as well as chaperones, presenters and guests. Young people from all across Canada are invited to join the conference to explore, learn and engage with our culture among peers. Questions to consider before the conference: How can we improve the present? How can we create a brighter future for ourselves? Are we prepared to face the upcoming challenges?

"Join us and learn from pillars of our community, hear their stories, their struggles, and their triumphs. Then, forge your own way by creating your own special blend of workshops. It is your choice what you learn, just as it is your future. Spend your evenings participating in our live Talent Showcase and dance party. Finally, reconnect to your roots during our cultural morning and closing ceremony." To learn more, visit www.gatheringourvoices.ca.

To apply to attend this event with WFN's youth and recreation group, submit the registration and consent form to Nicole, either by email at nwerstuik@wfn.ca or in person at the WFN Youth Centre, 1880 Quail Lane, Westbank, BC. For more information, call 250-768-4838.
