The BC Summer Games were an incredible opportunity to showcase the culture, hospitality, and community spirit of WFN. We are so proud of the many Members who helped make the Opening Ceremonies and the Canoe/Kayak events such a success!
A special thank you to Madison Jack for delivering a speech at the BC Summer Games Opening Ceremonies. Speaking in front of thousands of athletes, coaches, families, volunteers, and spectators takes tremendous courage, and Madison represented WFN with confidence, pride, and grace.
Thank you to Keyara, Hadley, and Nyelle Coble for their beautiful performance of the Okanagan Song during the Opening Ceremonies and to the WFN Youth Council for standing alongside them in support. Your presence on stage was a powerful reflection of our culture and the strength of our youth.
We would also like to recognize Marion Radawetz and Jordan Coble for providing a traditional welcome at the WFN Beach to officially open the BC Summer Games Canoe/Kayak competition. Their traditional welcome created a meaningful beginning to the competition and honoured all those who gathered on WFN lands.
To everyone who volunteered, participated, and helped welcome athletes and visitors throughout the Games, limləmt. Your generosity, dedication, and community spirit played an important role in making the BC Summer Games a memorable experience for all who attended.
