We want to keep you informed about the upcoming Line Painting & Street Sweeping activities scheduled for June through August 2024, weather permitting. Here are the key details:
📅 Schedule:
• Project Start: The project is projected to begin as early as Friday, June 7, 2024, starting with street sweeping. We aim to complete the project by August. Expect work to be ongoing between June and August. Please note that weather conditions may lead to schedule adjustments.
🚧 Temporary Disruptions:
• In some areas, you may encounter temporary road closures or limited access during the line painting process, including residential areas where painting will occur during the day. We kindly ask residents to park off the roadway during the day to facilitate the process. Main roadways will have painting occur at night with possible road closures.
🚗 Traffic Management:
• Our dedicated team will be on-site to manage traffic flow and ensure safety. Temporary traffic signs and detours will be in place to guide drivers safely around the work areas. Please follow their instructions and be cautious when driving near work zones.
🌦️ Weather-Dependent:
• Please be aware that our schedule may be subject to change due to inclement weather. Safety remains our top priority, and adjustments may be made as needed.
🚦 Safety First:
• For your safety and the safety of our workers, exercise caution when driving near work areas and follow all posted signs and detours.
Project Objectives:
The objective of this project is to improve road safety and infrastructure longevity for Westbank First Nation by completing a Line Painting Program across 40km of paved roads. Through monitoring, evaluation, and collaboration with contractors and Public Works, our goal is to optimize road markings for improved visibility and traffic management, ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. All paint lines are to be applied within the IR9 & IR10 region boundaries.
We understand that temporary changes can be inconvenient, but these efforts are crucial to maintaining our community's infrastructure.
