RCMP & Indigenous Youth Canoe Journey
The West Kelowna First Nation Policing Unit (RCMP) in partnership with Westbank First Nation, Okanagan Indian Band, and Penticton Indian Band are conducting an Okanagan RCMP Recruiting Youth Canoe Journey on Okanagan Lake August 26 to 30, 2019.
With goals to build better community relationships between RCMP and indigenous communities, further the recruitment of indigenous people within the RCMP, and to bring education to indigenous youth around the importance of water safety.
The journey will begin at the Kamasket Park in Vernon and will end in Penticton. Camps will be organized in locations along the lake for night camping and rest periods.
