Community COVID-19 Update – August 12, 2021

COVID Testing

This weekend, the Health Team will be available for COVID testing on both Saturday and Sunday, August 14-15, from 10am – 4pm at the Community Services Building.

If you require a COVID test please call Community Services to book an appointment, 250 768 0227
It is important to make an appointment as the Health Team will be able to advise you of your optimal window for testing and isolation dates. They will also ask questions regarding contact tracing and it is important that these questions are answered honestly. Contact tracing is the best way to identify other potential contacts and notify them if they need to be self-isolating. WFN is working hard to reduce further transmission of the virus and to keep the community safe.

Testing is available for:
Individuals with symptoms, both immunized and non-immunized;
Individuals who’ve had direct contacts with a COVID positive case, both immunized and non-immunized

As of August 12, 2021, there are:

10 active cases in the WFN community;
52 cases total since March 2020;
19 individuals and 10 households are currently self isolating;
763 tests have been conducted since March 2020;
1114 first dose and 888 second dose vaccines have been distributed;
270 people have been reached through contact tracing and
0 deaths Since March 2020

If you are on isolation and require additional support, please let Community Services know so they can connect you with the appropriate support.
