Local Education Agreement signed with School District 23 Board of Education
Westbank First Nation (WFN) and the Central Okanagan Board of Education signed a Local Education Agreement (LEA) on June 27, 2022.
This agreement, the eighth to date, provided an opportunity for both parties to come together to focus on ways to improve educational outcomes for WFN students, while fostering the relationship necessary to accomplish mutual goals.
WFN and School District 23 staff met over the last year to amend and update the LEA. The draft LEA was reviewed at a WFN policy day on May 24 2022, as well as a Central Okanagan Board of Education meeting on June 8, 2022. Council approved and adopted the LEA for a five-year term.
