Fauquier property campground caretaker opportunity

Westbank First Nation (“WFN”) is seeking a full-time, hands-on, live-in caretaker to maintain the home and nine campsites at WFN’s Fauquier property, located in the Lower Arrow Lake area, approximately a 2.5 hour drive from Westbank.

The home has 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and is wheelchair accessible. There is a large workshop, carport, vegetable gardens, greenhouse, and mature fruit and nut trees.

WFN acquired the Fauqier property through the Westside Road Interchange Land Exchange Project and has developed the 5-acre parcel into a campsite hosting nine R.V. sites and two tent sites.

The community of Fauquier is five minutes from Needles ferry. The nearest towns are Nakusp, approximately 40 minutes away, and Vernon, approximately 1.5 hours away.

This is not a paid position. Rent at the property is greatly reduced in exchange for the caretaker providing the following services:

  1. Regular lawn and yard maintenance of the home site and campsite properties.
  2. Upkeep to the home and buildings.
  3. Welcoming guests and supervising the campsites in cooperation with WFN.

All interested Members are asked to contact Val at WFN's property management department, at 250-769-4999.

Deadline: June 5, 2018
