Special Membership Meeting to be Held on February 4, 2016

When: Thursday, February 4, 2016  |  5:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Where: Multi-purpose Room, 1920 Quail Lane, Westbank (Babysitting available)

AGENDA

1. OPENING PRAYER 5:30 p.m.

2. COMMUNITY SUPPER 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

3. OPENING REMARKS by WFN Director of Operations, Pat Fosbery

4. PETITION REQUESTING DISCUSSION TO IMPROVE TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

On December 10th, 2015 the WFN Government received a Petition signed by 38 Electors requesting that a Special Membership Meeting be called in accordance with section 50.3 of the WFN Constitution. The Petition subject read, “We the undersigned are petitioning for a Special Membership Meeting to be called to discuss ways to improve the transparency and accountability of Chief and Council to the Membership including initiatives that could be implemented right away as well as those that might require creating laws or amendments to the WFN Constitution."

All Membership meetings will be conducted in a manner that aligns with Enowkinwixw principles and key values identified in our Community and Strategic Planning documents. These include: Equality, Honesty and Fairness, Respectful, Understanding, Peaceful Resolution, Listening, Acknowledgement, Inclusivity, Harmony and a high value placed on Community.

In accordance with section 54.7 of the Westbank First Nation Constitution, this meeting is open to Members and invited employees of WFN only. In this regard, all discussions and any transcription of this meeting are for the benefit of Members only, and must not be disclosed to non-member 3rd parties.
