WFN Hires New Chief Financial Officer

Oct 29, 2021 - WESTBANK: Westbank First Nation (WFN) is pleased to announce that Jim Bauer, CPA, CMA, has been appointed as the Chief Financial Officer for WFN commencing November 29, 2021.
Jim has previously held the positions of Chief Financial Officer and General Manager, Finance and Administration, at the City of Penticton, for a number of years, working to advance a number of key strategic priorities. Prior to that, Jim worked in a variety of senior roles at the Government of Alberta in the ministries of Finance, Economic Development, Infrastructure, Solicitor General and Justice.
“Westbank First Nation welcomes Mr. Bauer to our Administration and looks forward to working with him to further our Nation’s strategic priorities, including ensuring a responsive, accountable and transparent Government that meet the needs of our growing community,” says Chief Christopher Derickson.
The CFO role includes overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department; maintaining financial records; preparing and presenting regular financial reports and plans for Council; preparing the Provisional Budget and Budget for consideration by Council; providing technical support to Council and other Departments; and providing financial information to Members.
“I am excited to be joining the Westbank First Nation team and look forward to working closely with Chief, Council, staff and members to ensure the continued financial success of the Government,” says Jim Bauer.
