WFN to Receive $500,000 from Province to support Active Transportation Improvements
The Province of British Columbia’s (the Province) Active Transportation Grants program is assisting in rebuilding British Columbia’s economy following the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, and supporting CleanBC climate goals. The Province’s Active Transportation Infrastructure Grants program provides financial assistance to support the development of new infrastructure as well as infrastructure improvements to existing transportation networks. Over $1.4 million in Active Transportation Program grants will be awarded for 2020-2021 projects, of which WFN will receive $500,000. This funding will be utilized to support new sidewalks, bike lanes, and additional lighting to the Old Okanagan Highway/Louie Drive area.
