WFN completed a Community Wild Fire Protection Plan in 2020 that identified 9 community owned land areas within IR9 and IR10 to be treated.
WFN was successful in obtaining $280,000 in grant funding through the Provincial Community Resiliency FireSmart Fund to create plans and perform the work in these areas. The areas proposed for treatment are shown in the adjacent image and work is expected to take place this fall into Spring 2022.
The work primarily consist of treating potential wildfire fuels by thinning, pruning, pile and burning and/or chip and removal. Any questions can be directed to Derek Corning at or 250 769 4999
