WFN WORKPLACE AND COMMUNITY FACILITY REOPENING PLANS, JANUARY 2021
December 30, 2020 - To help keep our community safe, please note the following preventative health measures regarding our Government offices, Sensisyusten School, and Westbank Child Development Centre.
- WFN Government and Corporate offices will continue with our work-from-home arrangements and minimizing on-site presence at WFN workplaces until Monday, January 11, 2021. Personnel that must enter WFN workplaces to deliver critical services to Members will continue to be supported through multiple public health measures including: strictly limiting the number of personnel and time spent on-site and the observance of regulations and best practices (ie. wearing a properly fitting mask, physical distancing, and handwashing/sanitization). We have also recently completed a full deep-clean/sterilization of our workplaces and these cleanings will continue for the foreseeable future.
- Westbank Child Development Centre daycare will remain closed until Monday, January 11, 2021.
- Sensisyusten House of Learning will be closed on Monday, January 4, 2021, so that teachers may prepare for their virtual classrooms, and will reopen on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 for virtual/online learning until Friday, January 8, 2021. This is being done on a precautionary basis to keep our Nation members and school community members safe. With the number of intergenerational families in our school, we are putting health and safety first in regard to in person learning. Virtual lessons with morning and afternoon sessions, will start on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 to Friday, January 8, 2021. More details on the schedule will follow shortly but expect to connect virtually for an hour and a half in the morning and an hour and a half in the afternoon each of these days. In addition, language and culture will also be shared virtually each day in a school wide session. Teachers will contact parents on Monday, January 4, 2021 with a schedule of times and links to be able to access the virtual classrooms. If you require technology to allow your child to attend virtually, please contact the school to arrange. Parents and guardians will also be receiving a letter from the school. We anticipate reopening for in person instruction on January 11, 2021.
Thank you for your continued understanding and efforts in reducing the curve/spread.
