RCMP Recruiting Youth Cop Camp
Friday, July 2, 2021 - The West Kelowna RCMP Indigenous Policing Unit will be holding an RCMP Recruiting Youth Cop Camp on Westbank First Nation lands August 9 -13, 2021 for youth aged 15 - 17. The goal is to help build better community relationships between the RCMP and indigenous communities while boosting the recruitment of indigenous peoples in the RCMP.
Candidates selected to participate will experience an inside look into the life of RCMP recruit cadet training. Candidates will get an "up close" look at many Police aspects, including:
• Numerous RCMP Transport Units
• K9 – Police Dog Service
• Report Writing/ Notebooks
• Forensic Identification Unit
• Tactical Team
• Traffic Unit
• Physical Activity
• Drills
• Basic Firearms Safety
• Water & Canoe Safety
• Self Defense
