WFN has been working on updating Development Cost Charges (DCCs) and is looking to engage with Membership for review and input.

DCCs are charges levied on developers to help pay for Infrastructure and Growth related needs.

DCCs are charges levied on developers to help pay for Infrastructure and Growth related needs.

Examples of projects funded by DCCs are:

  • the WFN Skate Park
  • Sidewalk projects
  • the new Carrington/Butt Rd roundabout.

The WFN DCC fees are waived for WFN members who are creating 3 or less lots for single family buildings.

The existing DCCs are being updated as they are 2007 rates and since then, WFN has approved a number of master planning documents to define the required growth related projects and to offset construction costs which have risen significantly. The proposed DCCs are shown in the image above.

The WFN Development Services Department will be hosting a virtual DCC presentation on November 9, 2021.
