The applications process can take up to 3-5 weeks to fill a position, depending on the volume of work for the recruiter and the volume of applicants per position. However, on average it take between 3-4 weeks.

1. Submit Application
Please ensure you submit your cover letter and resume, and fill out the application details on the WFN platform before the closing deadline. Applications are reviewed as they come in and finalized from 3 to 5 days after the position closes.
2. Hiring Manager Reviews Applications
The Hiring Manager reviews the application, cover letter, resume and other documents that have been submitted to support the application. This can take up to a week depending on the volume of work in their department.
3. Prescreen
Candidates selected for a prescreen will either receive a phone call or email with questions that should take no more than 5 to 10 minutes to answer. This can take up to a week depending on the candidates selected.
4. Interview
If you have been chosen for an interview, please remember to come 5 to 10 minutes early. Interviews usually take 45 to 60 minutes. Interviews are generally conducted by a panel, which means you will be meeting with two or more interviewers usually consisting of the Hiring Manager, HR and a WFN Elder.

Decision Making:
At the end of the interview, the panel scores and debriefs the results. This can take anywhere from one to five days.

5. Second Interview (if necessary)
On occasion, Hiring Managers will request to do a second follow up interview which is less formal and only with the Hiring Manager. These are generally held to go over some outstanding questions.
6. Reference and Criminal Record Check
This is done when the results have been finalized and a successful candidate has been chosen. WFN uses the Ministry for the Vulnerable Sector and Sterling Backcheck for Criminal Record Checks. As for the references, WFN uses standardized questions. It is important to provide up to three references, if possible, in the event two cannot be reached.
7. Employment Offer/Hired
After a successful Criminal Record Check and reference checks, an employment offer is given to the successful candidate (sent electronically). Once the candidate signs the paperwork, they are hired! This can sometimes take longer depending on the candidate and if they have questions regarding their employment.

Onboarding: Successful candidates will receive a separate onboarding email from WFN's HR platform with all the important documents needed to finalize securing their role at WFN.
8. Declines Sent to Unsuccessful Candidates
Once the decision has been made and the successful candidate has accepted the position, declines are sent out to the unsuccessful candidates through WFN's system or by phone call. Notes are kept for those who wish to have feedback as to why they weren't the successful hire.
