WFN laws are enforced by WFN Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs), who work closely with the RCMP, Conservation Officers, Fire Services, and other service providers to serve WFN residents.
The RCMP Indigenous Policing Services unit is comprised of three RCMP officers dedicated specifically to WFN Lands. WFN LEOs are designated Peace Officers and therefore do not have authority to arrest or detain; nor do they carry a firearm for personal protection.
If there is a possibility of physical harm, contact the RCMP or call 911.

The Westbank First Nation Self-Government Agreement authorizes the RCMP to render services necessary for the enforcement of offences established by Westbank Law where required for the effective and efficient delivery of policing services. The direct beneficiaries of the MOU are WFN’s Membership and the non-members living on WFN lands. WFN’s government will be better equipped as a result of the MOU to address criminality on WFN Lands and keep the community safer.
Concerns regarding dangerous wildlife, invasive species, or sightings are addressed by BC Conservation.
To report a conflict with wildlife that threatens public safety, or to report an environmental violation or poaching, contact the Conservation Officer Service.
