The Westbank First Nation Self-Government Agreement authorizes the RCMP to render services necessary for the enforcement of offences established by Westbank Law where required for the effective and efficient delivery of policing services. The direct beneficiaries of the MOU are WFN’s Membership and the non-members living on WFN lands. WFN’s government will be better equipped as a result of the MOU to address criminality on WFN Lands and keep the community safer.
To contact a WFN law enforcement officer, please call:
*Non-emergency: 250-717-6147
Westbank First Nation law enforcement officers (LEO) enforce Westbank First Nation laws only. LEOs are designated peace officers under both WFN Law and the Criminal Code. LEOs are not RCMP officers; for this reason, they do not have authority to arrest or detain and do not carry a firearm for their personal protection. In the event that is a possibility of physical harm, the RCMP should be contacted immediately. In the event of an emergency, call 911 immediately.
