Our snow removal crew works to keep WFN roadways and sidewalks safe and clear of snow. Residents are asked to keep vehicles off of roadways for the duration of a storm event and thereafter to allow for efficient snow removal. Thank you for your patience as our crews address priority one and priority two routes for emergency vehicle access. The amount of snowfall will impact the timing and order in which roads are cleared.

Snow removal work on WFN roads includes: 25 km of roads; 14 km of sidewalk; 55 bus stops; nine parking lots and building entrances; 40 Elder driveways; and miscellaneous areas, including Lakeridge stairs, utilities sites and hydrants, and Community Core pathways.

Driveways

Plows are unable to avoid depositing snow in front of driveways, as snow is directed towards the right. To lessen the amount of snow deposited on your driveway, when shoveling your driveway pile snow to left (when facing your driveway). Do not shovel snow from your driveway onto the road.

Sidewalks

The registered owner of a property is responsible for removing all snow and ice from any sidewalk adjacent to owned property, no later than 10:00 a.m. the morning of any day except Sunday (as per WFN Traffic and Parking Control Law No. 2005-13). Snow or ice is not to be placed from a parcel of land or sidewalk on any traveled portion of any highway or sidewalk.
