Benefits and Compensation

WFN recognizes the importance of having a comprehensive healthcare program and therefore, as an employee, the only cost you pay for is LTD. Everything else is covered by WFN.

Extended Healthcare

This is a comprehensive benefit program that you will receive upon completion of your three-month probationary period. Below are some of our benefit highlights:

  • $1,000 per person per calendar year for occupational therapist/physiotherapist or athletic (combined)
  • $1,500 per person per calendar year for psychologist, social worker, and registered clinical counsellor (combined)
  • $500 per practitioner per person per calendar year for acupuncturist, audiologist, chiropractor, massage therapist, naturopath, osteopath, podiatrist/chiropodist/foot care nurse (combined), speech therapist, dietician
  • Eye exams - once per 24 months
  • Glasses, contacts, laser eye surgery - $300 per 24 months
  • Hospital - semi-private room included
Dental
  • No deductible
  • Basic - 100% to a maximum of $2,000 per calendar year (combined with Major)
  • Major - 80% to a maximum of $2,000 per calendar year (combined with Basic)
  • Orthodontics (for children up to age 18) - %50 to a lifetime maximum of $2,000
Drug Coverage
  • No deductible
  • 100% Coinsurance
  • Includes generic substitutions
Medical Services Plan of BC (MSP)
We cover the cost of your medical services plan.
Employee Assistance Plan (EAP)
A confidential Employee Assistance Program and work-life/wellness resources designed to help you and your dependents with a variety of issues with experienced professionals.
Health Spending Account (CINUP)
Eligible expenses are covered up to a maximum of $300 per family per calendar year.
Health, Wellness and Cultural Spending Account (WFN)
Provides financial support up to $300 to eligible employees wishing to pursue activities that will support their personal health, wellness, and culture.
Municipal Pension Plan
We recognize that our employees need to save for retirement. Our Municipal Pension Plan is a defined benefit plan in which both the employee and employer contribute towards. This is a mandatory pension program for eligible employees that you will received upon completion of your three-month probationary period.
Vacation and Leave

Dedicated time for the purpose of rest, relaxation and to recharge is of critical importance. We encourage and promote work-life balance by allowing for more time to be spent with family, community or how you see fit.

  • Vacation entitlement starts at 15 days and increases one day per additional year of service.
  • 12 statutory holidays are observed throughout the year, including National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21.

Education and Training Opportunities

What happens after your application is submitted? We follow a defined recruitment process that helps acquire the most suitable candidates based on their qualifications. Find out more about the steps in the application process here.

Hours of Operation

Government Building 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Community Services 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with some programs running until 9:00 p.m.
Youth Centre 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with some programs running until 9:00 p.m.
Sensisyusten School 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
WCDC daycare 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Public Works and Utilities 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
