Matters of dog and cat control are administered in accordance with the WFN Dog and Cat Control Law, which covers issues of dog licensing, control of dogs and cats, impounding of dogs and cats, right of entry, dogs causing injury or damage, dogs running at large, violation reports, fees and forms, and offences.

Westbank First Nation residents must license dogs directly through the WFN government, not the Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO). Dogs that are over the age of three months must be licensed. Licenses must be purchased in person at the Westbank First Nation government office. Please be advised, it is your responsibility to license your dog.
Dog Licensing Payments are DUE by the last day of February.
Except for persons residing on properties that are zoned to allow for kennels, no person will be allowed to keep more that two dogs. Kennel licenses must be renews annually.
Licenses expire on December 31 and must be renewed annually by the last day of February.
A $5.00 fine will be issued to owners of all unlicensed dogs except:
