Westbank First Nation Laws are enforced by WFN Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs), who work closely with the RCMP, Conservation Officers, Fire Services, and other service providers to enhance and serve WFN residents.
Three RCMP First Nation Policing officers are dedicated specifically to WFN Lands. WFN LEOs are designated Peace Officers and therefore do not have authority to arrest or detain; nor do they carry a firearm for personal protection. WFN requires that any person who is hunting in our traditional territory, other than a WFN Member or a Member of the eight (8) bands belonging to the Okanagan Nation Alliance that have communal hunting rights, must follow the current hunting regulations in force as established by the Province of British Columbia. This applies to all persons either with status or without.
